AI Weekly No. 003 - Battery Acid...

by Chris Randall

Super busy this week shipping the restock of Sequencer 1, the initial stock of Shapes, and generally moving cardboard around my living room. So just a shorty.

Note that I will be in PDX on August 6th at 2:30pm at Control Voltage, along with Scott Jeager of Industrial Music Electronics. Facebook event page is here.

Fuck, I have that same tape player and it warbles and barely plays. It has so much potential. Was hoping you were going to say that your tech time was going to be "3 simple fixes to get this fucking thing working." Alas...

I like the old man shouts at clouds videos more. I don't think I have to explain why.

@rollmottle: My solution was to just buy another one.

Love the Marantz. My dad had one, still does, and I bought one to do what I think you're going to do. First one was totally dead straight from eBay "couldn't test". 2nd one was thankfully perfect. I'm thankful I have a broken one that I could take apart since I found them really hard to put back together.

I have a 430 around here somewhere: 3 head, Dolby and dbx, etc. Always wanted one of the mono ones. Is that the one that can drop to 15/16 ips?

Anyway, cool video... my first of these new ones to watch. Not really my bag, but if it was I'd watch them all (how's that for an endorsement?).

Oh, I was fairly certain you were going to blow it up, or at least run over it with the CReagle... kinda glad you didn't, though.

In my experience eBay HEAVILY favors the buyer and I've been able to get my money back when someone clearly misrepresented an item even when it was listed "as is" or "broken/for parts only".
