Our TAS are better than your TAS...

From the original Analog Industries archive. Some links and images from that era no longer resolve.

Well, we’re about to put Audio Damage in Test Mode, as the RTAS port of Mayhem is nearing completion. I’ll be honest; I’m not much help in this particular endeavor except as moral support and a funnel for complaints. But as soon as that’s done, we’re going to start whanging away at our Next Big Product. In actual fact, due to the above point, I’m already whanging. The design is (more or less) complete, and it’s about to go in to what we ironically term “Feature Freeze” where we figure out which of my hairbrained schemes can actually be accomplished without having to re-write the entire VST SDK.

“So, what the fuck is it?” That’s what you’re wondering, right? Well, I’m not ready to tell yet. Suffice to say that all you folks that Switched a couple years back from Logic to platforms that had a little more staying power will be getting a feature you might sorely be missing. That’s right, I’m talkin’ about Tape Delay. Formulate in your mind’s eye a picture of the Tape Delay plug-in. Now multiply that by about 140, and cross it with an EMS Synthi. You just _might_ be in the ballpark for what we have planned.

So, when we’ve (and by “we” I mean Adam) determined that everything in the design can actually be accomplished without sub-contracting MIT, I’ll maybe drop a screen-shot or something. But for now you’ll just have to trust me when I say that this plug-in will be The Shit. In fact, it will be the only delay-based plug-in you’ll ever need. Ever. Seriously.
