I've never paid too much attention to the Cyndustries stuff, because it's all Modcan format, and most of it is just other people's designs, reformatted for the Modcan system. But today Cynthia announced something really crazy, the [Zeroscillator.](http://www.cyndustries.com/modules_zero-osc.cfm?type=37) I'm not entirely sure what to make of this; as far as I can tell, it is a whole FM block, which would by necessity consist of two oscillators. The sound samples are illuminating, especially the bell one, which sounds very much like traditional DX-based FM. It looks really nice, and will be available in (get this!) MOTM, Blacet, Modcan, Euro-Rack, \_and\_ DotCom formats.

It is $650, which is pretty fucking hefty when you can buy two Blacet oscillators for the same price, and have enough left over for another module. But it can do some pretty strange shit, judging from the samples. Plus that big knob in the middle is pretty fly, and certainly worth a couple bucks.

It's actually only one oscillator, so half an FM block. It just got quadrature outputs, each half of which is seperately morph-able between waveshapes. Whacky neat, but I think I'll stick to my PlanB VCOs at less than half the price.

agreed, it's tempting... if I could get 2 or 3, that's when the samples seem to shine on the site. Other than that the Plan B's have sound much better-- just different beasts-- this is very accurate, which often starts sounding sterile. That "Wicked" mp3 sure makes me want 3 tho'! Still, I probably rather have 8 Plan B's, they are really amazing.

also, sounds like Doepfer will have a similar scaled down, I would guess, thruzero quadrature osc to show at NAMM. Something Dieter's had planned for use with the freq shifter, wonder how it'll compare for FM uses?
