What is that maxim? Wish in one hand, shit in the other... Peter Gabriel's 72-channel (would that be 144 inputs at mix with the small faders?) SSL G, yeah, the one from the big room at [Real World,](http://realworldstudios.com/) is [for sale,](http://www.peterduncan.com/frames/realworld.htm) for what I feel is quite a reasonable price, considering its pedigree, condition, and features. For only £85,000 you can have one of the world's most listened-to tracking consoles in your own home. Of course, that doesn't include the cost of building an addition to house this ginormous console, but that aside...

Hmm... I don't think it's gonna fit in my basement office/studio.

My question is this: why are they selling it? Is it possible that they're going to an all-ProTools system or something like that?

Peter Gabriel bought SSL. I imagine he's getting something tasty-fresh hot-off-the-presses console.

SSL Console: $160,000
Yamaha NS-10 Monitors on eBay: $400-

Just kidding, I'm sure he's got some other tasty monitors, but I bet things still get checked on those nearfield NS-10's in the picture.
