Fucking Sweetwater...
From the original Analog Industries archive. Some links and images from that era no longer resolve.
If you get the Sweetwater inSync mailing which goes out every week, you know that they “scour the web” each week looking for the best freeware/shareware. This week, in their infinite wisdom, they chose FuzzPlus 2.2. That’s very nice of them, but they didn’t warn us of this, or let us know in any way, shape, or form that several hundred thousand people would be downloading it today.
As a result, our entire box is running slow as fuck, and all the posiNET sites, including this one, are stuck in the mud. I took down FuzzPlus 2.2 until this storm passes, so things should pick back up, but it sure is annoying in the short term. I guess they just assume everyone has huge server farms.

yeah, last time they did this was 8/4/2005 :
"So, Sweetwater, in their weekly spam to every musician on the globe, put a little blurb about the free plug-in on Audio Damage, Fuzz+. (It's at the bottom of the page.) This was nice of them, but it is unnerving on several levels, the details of which are as follows:"
You just can't get the full impact of that quote without the befuddled lost look that can only come from the leader of the free world.
garsh, I thought the folks at sweetwater were allright. they were the only web vendor who would ship stuff to me outside the USofA withough rectum stretching "service charges"
hell, sweetwater, is ok, they are salesmen. For better or worse oth companies don't even give you that. Sweetwater at least tries to appear to give a shit which is way beyond their competition. Their prices are inline now, probably thanks to EVERY manufacturer having a lowest allowed advertised price.
For their volume they probably are the best, but aside from som quiklok racks and some moitors they don't carry anything else i'd want, so Analog Haven is the place my likes, but no free shipping. And no sleazy sales guy that was required to leave a message for ya(i hate that crap but hell at least the care enough)
It's fair to be angry at a company if you feel they have done you harm. I'm not sure that using explicit language makes you look better. My first thought was, "Did you call the company?" Their toll-free number is everywhere. Maybe that might be a nice first step. Resolution, not revenge.
i support your use of explicit language when referring to sweetwater.
Are you fucking kidding me?

I became a member just to write that "fuck" is a useful word, in a category often label "profanity," and is "explicit" of nothing in and of itself, in the same sense that Stravinsky maintained that music "meant" nothing. We choose our expressive tools for the work at hand, and language without profanity would be sadly in need of having it invented right quick! So in other words, to expand on the previous posting, I support your use of profane language whenever you feel it warranted to convey the nuances of your expression. Additionally, the first poster misses the point that you could have been warned beforehand and were not, thus leading to an understandably profanity-inducing near-shutdown of the public face of your business.
I don't think I'd like it too much if 100,000 people came to my backyard BBQ to see me play without TELLING ME first.
Much as I'd like those 100,000 to notice...
weird. that post is almost exactly the same as the one the last time Sweetwater did this... what the fuck!?
Last time they did this where? Not here. This is the first (and only, I'd assume) time it's happened to us.
On a side note, they wrote me to apologize.

Oh, shit. I totally forgot about that. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

I think you mean, "Fool me once, shame on. Shame on, you. Fool me twice... Can't get fooled again."
