Okay, I'm a sucker. I'll admit it. I needed one more mic pre, and I wanted a discrete TAB or Siemens cart more than just about anything. So I've been nosing around the nether (meaning: non-eBay) regions of the Interwebs lately, looking for the right cartridge for the right price. Lo, and furthermore hark, I found what I was looking for. A fellow I'm buying a Neumann V475-2C module from (for my stupid awesome summing buss project, doncha know...) informed me that he had a TAB V376 cart he wouldn't mind parting with.

So, one Paypal transaction later, and the very V376 pictured above is on its way to me. Just gotta scare up a 1U rack and a rotary hardware editor, and buy a power supply, DI, and go-between from [JLM](http://www.jlmaudio.com/), and I'm disco. I know I previously got rid of all my German carts, but as it turns out, I just can't get enough of that crazy TFK tone.

I have a pipe dream wherein I've built an 8-channel sidecar that consists of Neumann PMV-70 mic pres and TAB W695 eqs. Someday, when I'm rich and famous.

Heh. They'd be great if they weren't on the 'bay, and I was, like, rich and stuff.

Yeah, if we were rich and stuff, they're also reissuing this stuff, looks like they're doing a good job of it too. http://www.helios-electronics.com/

They've had those for some years now. I remember when they were first announced; I think it was c. 2001 or so? Something like that. Really nice. I would love to have an 8-rack of those.

But then again, for the money, I could buy a Neve Melbourne, and have enough left over for a pair of Rosetta 800s to drive it with. I think I'd go that route.
