Digidesign continues to annoy the rest of the world with their introduction of the [MBox 2 Mini.](http://digidesign.com/index.cfm?langid=100&navid=114&itemid=4962) I'm so happy I could just shit. Now, on top of the shitty original MBox, and the MBox 2, both of which have the World's Worst Audio Drivers, we're graced with one that is cheap, so everyone can enjoy t3h suck.

The press material provides the quote of the day, though: _"Transporting the Mbox 2 Mini is no longer effortless due to its ultra compact size."_ Yeah, read that twice.

(EDIT: They fixed the text. Now, it is once again effortless. I wonder if they had to rev the unit to make it effortless again.)

The Mbox 2 Mini should be used strictly for recording the sound of one hand clapping.

Well, it only has one XLR input, so one hand clapping is about all you _can_ record.

You could probably record the shiz in mono. Maybe even the shizzle if you got a good mic/pre combo. But for the shiznit, you definitely want stereo.

If I record the shizzle in mono, copy it to a stereo track, and then delay the left channel by a few miliseconds (to make it stereo of course!), will that make it the shiznit?

Who is the target cutomer for that thing? I mean really? Or is this a case of some rouge engineer being left in the drivers seat and putting out products they thought were cool.

If they just wanna sell a mini dongle why not build it into one of those guitar>USB cable interfaces? That might actually encourage some suckers who already own IO boxes to try their software, this thing? I cant see someone actually trying to decide between MBOX2 and this. Way to shoot yourselves in the foot Digidesign.
