Steampunk Guitar...
From the original Analog Industries archive. Some links and images from that era no longer resolve.

I don’t recall seeing this on MusicThing, but it is exactly the sort of thing Tom would post, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he already has. Anyways, I saw “steampunk guitar,” and I don’t know what I was expecting, but this isn’t it. Basically, he made a pickguard with a nice design on it out of acid resist circuit board material. Now, that said, this is kind of a nifty solution if you want to make a custom pickguard. Check out the rest of his site for some other crafty things.
Note that site is getting hammered by Make:Blog because of the keyboard mod thing, so the tubes are a little bit clogged over there. Slow as hell, long story short.

Neh, that should just read 'Steampunk Pickguard'...
Check:

for some really inspired shit.
And I mean shit as in "that's the shit!".
Meh. I think he kinda dropped the ball on the guitar. The etched gears look good enough, but would he have taken the time and effort to make the body of gears and what-have-you.
But I adore that keyboard. My wife would force me to buy it were it on the market.
this ( http://www.brassgoggles.co.uk/brassgoggles/?p=353 www.brassgoggles.co.uk</a>) is a steampunk guitar. Hell, even this (<a href=" http://www.brassgoggles.co.uk/brassgoggles/?p=4 ) tries harder than that pickguard.
OK, I'm going to toot my own horn here. Don't worry, I'm not looking to sell this puppy, just show it off:
http://scotthelmke.com/vocal-mic-animation.gif is one of the first cool mics I built. Inspired by Terry Gilliam's "Brazil".
It's a lot smaller than it looks, the body tube is only an inch in diameter.
Yeah, I saw your site a while ago; I think I linked to it on the old iteration of this site. Nice work, though.
