Yeah, I don't have any idea what this dude was thinking, either. What I really don't know is what the guy that actually bid $3500 on this has going through his head. The auction is [here,](http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Altec-Mixer-Compressor-Amp-Reverb-Rack-Sys_W0QQitemZ220155849625QQihZ012QQcategoryZ67807QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) but don't expect to learn anything more about it than you'll get just looking at the picture. _Maybe_ those two 1591 comps would get you a couple grand back, to the right person, but the rest of it?

I especially like the juxtaposition of the pink Emco rack with all the Institutional Green Altec stuff. That's a great combo.

I dunno, man, there are some pretty sweet pres in those 1567's. And a spring reverb to boot. And it's bizarre looking. I'm not surprised it sold...

Demz is some ugly colors, wreaks "I wanna play hide the salami", imho.

seems just a bit steep! but hey.. for a nice pink rack i guess that makes it all worth it ;)

I'm in love! And I'm more or less local! Now the price needs to come down by about 50% and I will have the gayest studio in the region.
