This has to take the cake for the all-time greatest email to Audio Damage ever. The circumstances: apparently, the customer in question didn’t “return to merchant” at the end of the Paypal purchase fiesta, and wasn’t too happy about the fact that our store needs that to occur before a reg code is issued. Obviously, there’s a language barrier, so I don’t harbor any grudges, and I strongly doubt he’ll ever read this, so I don’t have any qualms about printing the resulting letter in its entirety:
Are you STUPID or FRAUD COMPANY? GET MY MONEY BACK ASAP! Why do you ignore me. I do not need your rubbish plugin. I will accuse you if you refund my money ASAP. Fuck You!
I try to be fairly quick with all service and store problem emails; his original letter (which was just a forwarded Paypal receipt, nothing else) came to the address that all the receipts go to, not the normal info@ address where most correspondence takes place. As the subject line was just the normal Paypal subject, I didn’t know it was a cry for help, and missed it. As a result, we have the gem above.
No hard feelings, of course, and technically speaking, the whole thing is my fault, for which I apologized. But this is a shining example of the cross-cultural appeal of our product line.
