Tattoo-torial 4: Something Random This Way Comes...
From the original Analog Industries archive. Some links and images from that era no longer resolve.
Here’s a tutorial about how to use all the various randomization features in both the sequencer and the voices of Tattoo.

As part of my testing, I randomized every parameter and set BPM to 999. That was pretty fun, although I don't recommend it to others.
I love the randomizing features on this, lends a lot of utility to the sequencer.
Eggcellent! Curious if the parameter sequencers output any MIDI CCs at all.
Nope. Only velocity.

oh niiiiice!...why the hell aren't i one of your testers?...am I not anointy nointy?
Wow. That's really screwing with my "I'm not buying any more gear after the New Year" thing.

You can subvert that by rationalizing that VSTs aren't gear =o]
That seems really well designed. I can see myself using all those features, but I would only have thought of about half of them (the obvious half) myself.
Sorry to gush, but this shows why I've grown to love Audio Damage. There's always something that makes your products stand out from the crowd, and I adore using randomization features. Tattoo will give me what I've been waiting for in a microtonic update.
Cool, I guess I will use mainly the seq to drive other stuff like Battery or Microtonic. Perhaps in an update later this year other parameters could output CCs as well. ;)
Btw. at 0:39 you repeated "selected beats" by mistake though it's about the random beats slider... but I think most people will get it anyway. ;)

you could use some kind of midi message remapper plugin after the output to convert the velocity data to CC,
or run tattoo in a modular host that allows such remappings natively, like Bidule.
