Beatserv has a new package out that is, quite simply, t3h awesome. It's called [Clash,](http://www.beatserv.com/index.php/products/clash.html/) and is a set of heavily edited/produced live drum loops. Some very interesting stuff going on here, and only US$49.00. A strong "buy" recommendation from me, and I'm not saying that just because Wade is my boy.

Wade tells me he's got Dark Downtempo 3 in the oven, as well. Do not fear his beats. They come in peace.

I like these Beatserv people. They got a thing. There's a THERE there.

But, man, $49... they're just not charging enough.

I mean, come on, I just learned that the new Ircam/Flux plug-ins are going to total $3,000 or so.

Get with the TIMES, Wade...

Some of the drums remind me of Clarks Body Riddle album... which is a good thing imo. Bloody good album.

Also, maybe I am being slow but I have no idea what the Iron Chef concept is? Robert Downey Jr cooking an omelette?

I apologise for that lame pun in advance...

And, as is our thing, there's a lame American version as well!

Cool stuff. DDT got me through a film score a few months ago, killer stuff.

**bub** (2010-03-31):

They come in peace - with swords and halberds? Anyway, demos sound great. Could even fit in dupsteppy territory.

**Meteren** (2010-03-31):

Y'know, I don't buy loops anymore, but this is sexy enough and cheap enough that I'll probably buy it just to slice it into my own kits.

**wgparham** (2010-03-31):

@Meteren

The beatserv series two sets (dark downtempo 2, syntax, ocular, and broke bias) all come with Kontakt kits already made from them. All of which are excellent. If you want some nice kits those should save you some time with the wave editor. The loops also come in .rx2 which makes it fairly easy to chop and rearrange.

I compulsively buy anything beatserv ... um ... serves up. It's all great stuff. Especially the bombs and bits set. It's full of all the little kinds of sounds that I am too lazy to construct myself (what? spend 30 minutes making a little squonk that's only heard for a half a second in this track? I gots mixin' ta do!). At ten bucks the things a steal.

@ Chad, I know, I know. We were thinking $4900 for this one but I think php ate some of my zeros! Oh well.

CR-

Thanks for not feeling the need to post an April Fools post. They're everywhere and I haven't seen one that's funny or clever.

**Chris Randall** (2010-04-01):

I can't stand that shit, frankly. It's either something so stupid it's patently obvious it's a joke, or it's something that I'd like to have but will never be built. Either way, it's fucking annoying. Putting up some fake-ass blog post isn't an April Fools prank. It's just a waste of everyone's time.
