I'm working on a "THIS BABY IS FULL OF TECHNO" t-shirt. I haven't, as yet, come up with something that pleases me (and will, in turn, please you.) But I'm working on it. My initial draft can be seen here but that's not really working for me. General criticism accepted at this juncture.

We'll do this one like we did the last three, where you pay, and in a couple weeks you get the shirt. This time I'm going to put a little more thought in to the pricing model than the last one so I don't have to, you know, spend any of my own money to send you guys shirts.

Also, too, I would be shocked (SHOCKED!) if D3 wasn't released this week. We're just chasing little things at this point; it is mostly done on all three platforms otherwise. We'll definitely be releasing only the 32-bit versions first. Then, once Adam has completed the required course of medication and psychotherapy that is needed every time he turns on his iMac, we'll churn out some 64-bit versions.

Maybe skip the image. Lots of things are and can be full of techno. Why limit it to a 909?

(Personally, I think I myself am full of said techno and would like the ladies to know this when they see me walking down the street with a tshirt that says so...)

**chittick** (2010-05-24):

i'd go with mrbiggs on this, though i wouldn't skip the image entirely. i think you'd have to have some knobs or something to complement the text.

**audiogeekzine** (2010-05-24):

I hope you make this in maternity wear so my wife can get one.

**MrBiggs** (2010-05-24):

Aaah yes, knobs would be ideal.

**Chris Randall** (2010-05-24):

Yeah, I'm leaning that way myself. And my wife pointed out that we virtually _must_ do onesies. I, not being a parent, wasn't entirely sure what those were, so I had to look it up, and now I'm left resentful that they don't come in adult sizes, because it looks like a comfortable way to spend a day.

Knobs is always good. Bit more techno needed on the font front - the two line LCD display we all know and dread, perhaps? For the image I know that 909=techno, but why not use a portion of an A.D. interface?

**Solipsist Nation** (2010-05-24):

I'm not fond of the font, but then again, I think everything should be in Helvetica... 8)

**chaircrusher** (2010-05-24):

It seems a shame to limit FULL OF TECHNO to one beatbox -- it's hard to imagine an image that would capture the idea without limiting it.

It also should be pointed out (since I'm the admin for the 313 mailing list) that a Techno purist only grudgingly recognizes anything produced outside the 313 area code as 'Techno.' I'm not so doctrinaire about it, I'm just saying.

And Chris, have you ever made any straight up techno? We're talking 'techno' as a generic attribute, not a specific name for a style of music, right?

And why does Chrome's spell check not know the word 'Techno'?

**Chris Randall** (2010-05-24):

As I pointed out on Twitter to someone yesterday, Detroit techno is like the Vikings discovering America. Sure, they did it first, but when Columbus discovered it, it stayed discovered.

Have I ever made any straight up techno (as a specific style of music?) Sure. Tons of it, including one of the best selling techno records of all time and the first one to go gold (in 26 countries) and platinum (in three). But that's neither here nor there. I don't limit myself to one (sub) genre, and I generally think there's something a little wrong with people that do, unless they're Glenn Gould. (And there was a lot more than "a little" wrong with Glenn Gould.)

But in this instance, we're talking about techno as an attribute, not a genre descriptor, so it's kind of moot.

I was thinking of doing a whole series, with the MPC, the ASRx, and other famous techno boxes. But I think the general idea of limiting it to text and maybe a couple knobs is better. Once I knock off AD work for the day, I'll take another stab at it.

can you use a heavy weight T-shirt? the collar started coming off at the seam of the last t-shirt after i wore it once :( maybe just a fluke

you should just use tattoo's GUI instead of a 909.. for the "full of Techno" t-shirt. i'd rather have that on a T than a 909.
