Busy, Teasing, Busy, Teasing...

From the original Analog Industries archive. Some links and images from that era no longer resolve.

I’ll fill this out a bit later today, but I put up another Phosphor demo in my Soundcloud account.

[Embedded media, no longer available.]

This one is 100% Phosphor, two instances. The first instance is the only thing you hear in the beginning; pulse LFO to noise level and some other shit. That’s the shift-register noise (that is to say, with the Space Invader switch on for noise) that you’re hearing. The second Phosphor instance is the melody line that comes in after a couple measures.

Does Crandall even have babies? Are we dividing up his stuff? I'm not sure how this works, but I want to have your guitars.

Are you sure he ment babies as in children? I call the soft- and hardware I love the most for my babies sometimes. Phosphor sounds amazing btw :-)

If I had a baby, it would be full of techno, of that you can be sure.

The funny thing about shift-register-based noise is how recognizable it is if you happened to have played a lot of old video games (which weren't old when I played them, *cough cough*). I noticed this first when I built the CGS digital noise module for my synthesizer a few years ago, and then recently when I wrote the code for Phosphor. Instant flashbacks.
