# Richard Lainhart, RIP...

I'm very sad to end the year on a down note, but I have to report that Richard Lainhart, master of the Buchla / Haken, has passed away from an infection picked up during surgery. He was an inspiration, and a super nice guy. He will be sorely missed.

Agreed, he was a great and enormously talented guy. I've always found his dedication to synthesizers highly motivating. Very sad to have to put that in the past tense.

I had the honor to meet him at Electro-Music 2010 and 2011 (music festivals). Fantastic musician. Nice person. meant a lot to see him in the audience for my performances.... Wow, could he make the Buchla sing via the Haken. He will be missed.
