And this, from a company that knows how to use "ph" in a word. I have no editorial comment, other than to say "want. Now." Product page, more pics, and a video [here.](http://davesmithinstruments.com/products/prophet12/index.php)

Did anyone else notice the bottle of liquor just hanging out in the background?

**Chris Randall** (2013-01-24):

My experience with DSI is limited, but as far as I can tell, 100% of their creative and technical endeavors are lubricated with tequila.

It's no Schmidt. But, then again, either is the Schmidt.

**noisetheorem** (2013-01-24):

...and he fapped and he fapped until his fapper was sore.

**Ted** (2013-01-24):

It even _looks_ nice. That black and red is mean.

**krylenko** (2013-01-24):

Looks awesome. Also made me laugh b/c I checked out the "DSI Artists" page and it listed Trent Reznor. I know he has a long history of using Smith-designed instruments but really, is there any hardware or software he *doesn't* use?

Which made me wonder - has he gone on record as actually disliking any music gear?

**ppgwave** (2013-01-24):

Wow. That looks wonderful.

they should have called this "STFU Gearslutz twits"

the demo sounds nice. seems creamier than P08? time will tell. anyway.. nice poly option for those who need a poly. and why not?

**Harrison74** (2013-01-24):

Wow...

That thing looks amazing. Sounds good as well from the rough demo.

I love it's got a knob called 'Girth'

This NAMM has turned out some gems. May be over saturation but choice is good if you're on a fixed budget.

The KingKorg looks okay as well. I love the bit in the video where it boasts of the feature you can control your fifty buck Monotron with a grand worth of synth!!! What a boon!?!!

Shopping list has just expanded massively, either way.
