Distro...

From the original Analog Industries archive. Some links and images from that era no longer resolve.

Okay, this is gonna come out of left field, but I haven’t had to do this in a while. It seems that our label has outgrown its current distributor, so I’m in the market for a new one. The last time we went shopping for a distro deal was in 1997, and the music industry was a much different beast.

So, anyone have any good/bad stories about distributors, and thoughts one what a good one would be for our catalog? While the majority of the Posi catalog is, of course, SMG stuff, SMG has ceased to exist, and our current and upcoming crop of releases is all downtempo, melodic electronica, dub, and Nick Cave/Tom Waits style modern… uh… whatever that is. Blues? Something. Thoughts? (And no one-stops, please. We already have a one-stop deal, and that works about as good as you’d think.)
