Calling that band a 'well-oiled machine' would be a gross understatement. Holy shit, that was the real fucking deal.

indeed a sad loss. but that clip: nice. were my eyes deceiving me or were there 2 bass players?

As a fellow fat-stringer, I noticed that too. The man on the back left was clearly the big gun, not sure what the other chap was up to...but I only heard it once, and obviously Mr. James Brown rightfully claims the majority of one's attention...

    Cheers.

How about this? That groove is so badass it needs two players to hold it down.

Idolator found a great clip from the T.A.M.I Show:

Full-on Hardest Working Man in Showbiz mode. And that band just holds it down without flinching.

I'll miss him. I liked his opening to Rocky 3.

Was I the only one who thought of the "James Brown is Dead" song? I tried to describe it to a few people who had no idea what I was talking about.

I have a good idea of what you're talking about, because the gold record hanging on my wall is for exactly that track.

    Well, where's the rush-release 2006 remix?

    Oh, too late. Ford died.

(Christ I'm an insensitive bastard...) ;)

"I liked his opening to Rocky 3."
It was actually Rocky 4 ;)
