SSL Duende Screenshot...
Just found a small screenshot of the two plugs from the SSL Duende, plus a mock-up of the front panel, such as it is. From this here site (if you want a slightly larger image.) I want to take it home, and kiss it, and…

Hard-Core Gear Porn Friday!!!
In all the months of doing this, I don't think we've come across a place with this many synths, except for Zimmerland and that place from South America on the old site. Pictured above is most of the Selector and a small…

Bush Of Ghosts double whammy!
One of the most important electronic albums, and one that has heavily informed most styles of electronic music, got a big pat on the ass today. My Life in the Bush Of Ghosts by Brian Eno and David Byrne, has been…

Take that, Focusrite! SSL DSP box on the horizon...
No photos yet, and the SSL site has no information on the product, but it looks like SSL is going to release a Firewire DSP sidecar to compete with the offerings from TC, Waves, UA, and Lexicon. Called the Duende, it…

Okay, so it appears the Blacet has been spoken for. I'll put up a full list of the remaining items, with conditions and such in a few days.

The Big Slim...
Okay, this is gonna be tough, albeit in a cathartic way. Lisa and I are going to be moving from our largish house in the country to a smallish apartment in the city (while it was a noble experiment, living out in the…

Messe: New TC interface...
Man, and I just bought a FireBox, too. This is the Konnekt 24D, a new interface from TC. Aside from the rather ostentatious use of the letter "K" this seems to be a pretty sweet box. It has the Fabrik C channel strip…

The Long Strange Trip Of A VCS3...
Huh. The Putney that was the subject of many AHNW pictures this weekend (including my post of a couple days ago) is up on the 'bay. Quite frankly, I can't think of a 3-OSC mono that I'd pay $3150 for, but to each his…

MFB Multi-Filter...
I don't know if this is new or not, but it's the first I've seen of it. Yet another el cheapo knobby box from German company MFB. Here's the product page on the MFB site. It looks to be an analog multi-effects unit…

AHNW Synthi-porn...
Some nice pics from Analog Heaven Midwest 2006 up on the Retrosynth site. As a militant smoker, I particularly appreciate the nice tobacco-burst color of that Putney. You see too many in white; it's good to see one in…

Wanna know what it feels like to get punched in the stomach?
Go start yourself a company. Have it do pretty well. Well enough to the point where you can advertise in major music magazines. Then go do an ad buy in one (or more) of those magazines. We just purchased a bunch of ads…

Sick gear sale on NYC Craigslist...
Check out this ad for a really fine collection of gear up on the block. Some of the prices are silly, but some are really good. Of course, it depends on condition. Being me, I have my eyes on that SCI Pro-FX, but it is…

Well, Messe is right around the corner, and we've got whatever the Roland Red thing is, and the new Moog, and the Focusrite Liquid Mix, and I'm sure many other nice things that We Can't Live Without. However, whenever…
