Rainy Days And Mondays and, like, sandwiches...
From the original Analog Industries archive. Some links and images from that era no longer resolve.
That bitch has five fucking stars. Go figure. It looks like the Perma-Rain has started here in PDX. I fucking DIG this shit. Anyhow, a couple points to make to start the week:
1. I was, as it turns out, hopelessly optimistic viz. my post last Monday about BS2 progress. We sent out a late alpha (what I thought was an early beta) and are just now stemming the tide on the litany of problems discovered. This is, by a country mile, the most complex plug we’ve released, and whack-a-mole with the bugs is in full force. However, at the risk of being a Pollyanna of the first order, I’ll now provide an estimate of two and a half weeks to release. That sound you hear is Adam laughing hysterically.
2. In that same vein, I’ll probably put up the store page and a shit-ton of audio samples today. I’ll Twat when I’ve done that.
3. I know there are a fair amount of AI readers in PDX. I’d like to gauge the interest for a monthly AI get-together where we can sit around and bitch about YouTube fucktards and Chinese plastic MIDI controllers, and perhaps enjoy a nice single malt scotch.

Is about as far as I got with programming,so forgive my ignorance. But BS2 most complex? Bugs? I mean if you guys can make anything like Automaton and Ricochet, doesn't that like mean that you are the masters in the temple?
FUK, I wish I was still in PDX. BTW, have you seen this Funtard, courtesy matrix? http://matrixsynth.blogspot.com/2009/02/hexagon-original-synth-keyboard-solo.html
@beauty pill: It seems that Obama actually _is_ synthier than you: http://matrixsynth.blogspot.com/2009/02/ahmw-year-11.html
Great voice, must have been the years of stomach acid in her throat.
BS2 makes Automaton and Ricochet look like NorthPole by comparison. It is exceedingly complex. It has 12 sequencers where Automaton has one and Ricochet has none. I could go on, but suffice to say that it is a breeding ground for bugs.
I think we have all but a couple little things nailed, though. After that is porting to the Mac (for the second time) for optimization, we'll hopefully have everything under control.

OK, any idea what type of reverb is on Karen's voice? EMT 140, or an actual chamber?
The Carpenters always looked like the photos of my older cousins from the 1970's. Same poofy sleeved prom dresses and ruffled tuxedo shirts. The more stylish 1970's garb apparently didn't fly with my people.
Assuming it was recorded and mixed at the A&M studios, it's either a 140 or their real chamber. I think the old A&M had four 140s (all with names and different character), but someone can correct me on that. My copy of "Temples Of Sound" is in storage because of the move, but if someone that has it wants to crack the A&M section and illuminate us, that'd be cool.

Watching that made me hungry...

In my experience, bugs increase exponentially with lines of code.
(And I work on a project with ~ 3 million lines of code.)
So you've got Mothra. We're still at Arachnid stage on this.

I recently played with a theatre group at Cal State Long Beach wherein they have the Carpenter Center theatre, a large ornate place apparently funded by Richard and Co.
In the lobby they have a giant glass case (the size of a small room) containing Richard's Wurly, Karen's Ludwig drumkit, period clothes, etc. It's unintentionally really creepy (and probably would be even if Karen were still with us).
